What is your biggest struggle with poverty on a daily basis?
“Food. I get some of my meals here. But, not all of them. I know there are people who need the meals—the food—more than I do.”
What would you like people to know about living in poverty?
“Tell them to come here. Or another place such as the Salvation Army, The Welcome Centre, The YMCA…New Song Church now provides two meals a day, too.”
“What makes me try harder to get out of poverty is my kids. Knowing that my kids are still with me keeps me striving to do better. Talking to others in the same situation as me helps me get through each day.”
